Jacquie Hutchison

Jacquie has been riding horses since preschool days. Growing up in Ohio, her father was a jockey, her grandfather, a track vet. They cut her hair short and she had enough of a "boy" name that she was able to exercise horses back in the days where it was only boys allowed to do that job. She then moved on to riding Hunter Jumpers but it wasn't until in her thirties that she says she "graduated to dressage."

Her current horse, Willie (in photo), an Arabian, was a competition endurance stallion when she bought him at age 9. She saw his natural talent for all the Gran Prix moves and stopped the fellow riding him and asked, "How much for that horse?" After purchasing him, she gelded him and schooled him through Fourth Level dressage before retiring him as she was in need of retiring from competition herself as well.

Willie is now 26 years old and sound and happy and lives with a band of mares at the BEC. He is regularly conditioned and groomed by Meadowe Brady who has trained him to "dance" to music where he naturally changes gaits when the rhythm changes during their "at liberty" session in the indoor round pen.
