Sarah Edwards has been around horses her whole life. She grew up in Germany, riding and training in various stables and competing in dressage, jumpers and eventing both in Germany and the UK. Sarah was a working student at the Deker Jumping Stable in southern Germany for several years, until a riding accident and brain injury forced her to retire from jumping. Sarah has since been riding and leisurely competing in dressage competitions up to third level. Sarah also has been an instructor for beginning and intermediate riders in Germany and most recently in Iowa at Stagecoach Stables. Sarah has a particular interest in rider biomechanics, and was fortunate enough to attend many clinics with Mary Wanless, a pioneer in rider biomechanics and coach of Olympic alternate Heather Blitz.
While having 2 young children and her career has put Sarah's riding on hold, she is available for clinics around eastern ND and northwest MN. When not spending time with horses or the family, Sarah is an Assistant Professor of Counseling Psychology at UND, training the next generation of counselors and psychologists. Sarah is a licensed psychologist herself, and because of this, is very experienced working with students through fears and performance issues.
