Miss Katie C

Katie had been a race horse and broodmare and had not had a saddle on her back for 15 years when we decided to try her in the lesson program. After only a few months she was in her first schooling show competing in Intro Dressage, some lower level jumping, and Costume Class (it was Halloween)! Katie has produced some outstanding race horses, including Black Type Stakes winner Katie is Smart by Smart Strike. In between having foals, Katie is used for beginner riding and jumping lessons. Her temperament is kind and sweet and she is very calm. Each year she participates in schooling shows around the region with new riders. Katie is the dam of Marshall under Horses for Sale.

Miss Katie C sold for $175,000 as a weanling at the Keeneland, KY auction; she then sold for only $150,000 as a 2 year old ready to race, won a few, got bred, and sold for $200,000 as a 5 year old in foal to Gulch. Wow.
